The meeting was well attended with festive decorations and yummy food. We enjoyed a presentation by Annemarie Fussell of Wildlands Restoration Volunteers. WRV works with land agency partners across the state to restore sensitive alpine areas, rehabilitate parklands and replant wetlands. Their mission is to heal the land while building a diverse community dedicated to the care of our natural resources. WRV has been working around Summit Lake at Mt. Blue Sky for over ten years. Here are some projects with before and after pictures:

Additionally the WRV organization works to empower the public to use locally native plants in their landscapes with the goal of; supporting wildlife, conserving water, and sharing educational resources. They offer a fall seed swap and a spring plant swap as part of this effort.

“I am a Native Plant Nerd 100% and cannot remove my personal enthusiasm for providing urban habitat. Even if all of our public lands are pristine and 100% intact biodiversity, we still don’t have enough. We must weave habitat and the natural world into our built environments and private lands.” Annemarie Fussell
