Linda Yowell and Kris Miller show off the Garden Journal given to each attendee

We had a sold-out crowd of 32 guests on Saturday, April 29th at the Idaho Springs Visitor Center.  Six different topics of discussion were presented by six Master Gardeners.  Topics included weeds, native plants, vegetables, pollinators, mountain soils, and solar greenhouses.  The Master Gardeners presented a few interesting details about the topic and then participants got to ask the Master Gardeners their own questions.  Participants spent 15 minutes at a table and then rotated to the next, hence the name “Speed Dating”.  Everyone received a free garden journal for notes and handouts.  Thanks to the Idaho Springs Historical Society, Clear Creek County Library District, Safeway, Marigold Flowers, Sander Graphics and the Weekly Register-Call.  Jan Bowland, Kris Miller, Linda Yowell, Tobi Howell and Amy Tomlinson were the CGC team who produced the event. Thanks to our Master Gardeners who went above and beyond for their presentations – Linda Campbell, Conradt Fredell, Debbi Novotny, Patti Worley, Sandy Hollingsworth and Chris Crouse.
